PENANG: The pioneer electronic land administration system (e-Tanah) in
Penang, which has run into problems, will be improved, said Chief Minister
Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.
“Penang has been fortunate to be chosen by the federal government to be the
first to implement the e-Tanah system.
“However, like all new systems, there will always be teething problems,” Dr
Koh said at the Penang State Public Service Night in the Evergreen Laurel
hotel on Friday night.
He said that in the last few days, the state had encountered a problem of
faulty computers that had resulted in delays and other problems.
“We intend to modernise the computer systems in the state to correct the
situation,” Dr Koh said.
He added that the state would liaise with federal agencies and companies
that were implementing the system to see how best to correct the situation.
Later, Dr Koh presented certificates of merit to members of state public
service agencies and departments who had been promotions and given salary
increases and the State Public Service Quality Awards to various departments
and agencies. |
